Are you possessed by a performance devil?

A devil of a performance

I went with some modern Christian church people to visit someone, to have a church service in the place that they live in and it is here where I seemed to finally find out what attracts certain people to these types of services. While we were there the pastor of the church that I went with, decided that each person should say something to the person who we were visiting and I had to go first. I tried to ask my brain to come up with something fancy sounding to say, but it seemed to refuse to cooperate, so I instead had to find some verses from the Bible to read. I ended up reading from Matthew 7:7-11 which says "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" and I then gave a brief explanation afterwards, but there were not any audible comments about what I had said. When it was the next persons turn they started to speak and I have to admit that they sounded a lot more impressive than I did. Somehow they managed to say a lot of nice sounding things, without having to use their Bible and there was an audible response from the people who were there, when they had finished. All of the other people who spake managed to sound a lot more impressive than I did and one of them was even commended for speaking like a preacher, even though they were hardly bringing anything from the Bible. After witnessing the various performances I seemed to realise why certain people like to go to church and it seems it is because they are natural performing artists who are just looking for a venue to perform at. Some people might say that it is the Holy Spirit that was helping their performances, but if this was the case, then shouldn't they have been bringing a lot more out from the Bible than they did? You would only expect a spirit that is not a supporter of God, to speak mostly its own words, while using the Bible to just support what their point of view is. This would also explain why the vast majority of modern Christians are content with just sitting in a building and soaking up the entertainment, while also just waiting for their turn to perform as well.

A devils life

We can see in the world that there are a lot of people who seem to be very good performers, with them also being against God, by using their talents to push their own agendas. We can read of someone in the Bible who was also a good performer in Acts 12:20-23 which says "And Herod was highly displeased with them of Tyre and Sidon: but they came with one accord to him, and, having made Blastus the king's chamberlain their friend, desired peace; because their country was nourished by the king's country. And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man. And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost." and we see here how impressive Herod's performance was, but God then showed how pointless these performances are when He does not get the glory. It was God that gave Herod his body with it's performing skills, his authority and life, so it would have made sense for Herod to acknowledge these things, so that the people would know how things are ordered in this earth. There are two famous people who have died in this decade who could also have gone the way of Herod, because they allowed themselves to receive too much glory, while acting as if God had nothing to do with their successes. The two famous people are Steve Jobs and Michael Jackson, with both of them having a huge following of people who worshipped them, but their philosophies only caused people to stay serving their idols, while also ignoring what God had given them in their lives. When Steve Jobs was alive he lived by using the intelligence that God had given him and managed to have an almost god like status with the people who listened to him, but when he became sick it didn't seem as if he could go to the God who had made him, in order to be saved from the illness that he had, but he instead had to go to mankind's doctors, who ultimately could not save him. To make things worse he was a billionaire, so money was not a problem when it came to keeping him alive, but the money could not save him in the end. Michael Jackson didn't seem to even like the look of the body that God had given him, even though it obviously performed very well in a physical way, so he tried to get some doctors to change how the skin looked. In the end he also had a bit of a god like status, but this did not help him when it was his turn to have some problems with his body as well. This should make it obvious to anyone else, who thinks that they can take advantage of the performance devil that is inside them, that this devil will be of no use when they have reached the time for their end.

Making a devil of God's words

If there is one thing that people possessed by performance devils in a church are good at, then it has to be that they are very good at using God's words, to assist them in getting their personal points and doctrines across. Whenever one of these people is preaching, which is usually the case with all of the preachers, they will start off by giving some kind of story and will then read a few verses from the Bible. If you are lucky then they will say some things directly relating to what they have just read, but usually you will find that they will then just start talking about whatever point it is that they are trying to get across, while ignoring what the rest of the chapter might be saying. The end result is then that people are just then getting the opinion of the preacher, which their performance devil will seemingly help them to get out. You might then think that these preachers are not committing a crime, because they are not directly lying, but the end result is still that they are not properly bringing out God's doctrine or opinion in their sermon, so the end result could be that the listeners will still then end up in the lake of fire, because the preacher was getting too carried away with their performance. We can read of what could happen to these performance devil possessed preachers if they don't repent in Ezekiel 33:7-9 which says "So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me. When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul." and we see here that these preachers need to work out whether they are possessed or not, if they want their soul to be delivered on the day of judgement. We can also read of a devil who must have been a good performer in Matthew 4:5-7 which says "Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God." and we can see here how the boss of all devils even likes to use Bible verses to deceive people, so it is hardly surprising that these performance devils are causing their victims, to use God's words in a way that does not edify their listeners.

The people prefer the devils

Now you might wander why people who seem to have performance devils inside them seem to be so popular, well it seems to be because fallen humans seem to actually like listening to the words of these kinds of people. We can read of God's description of some people who were like this in Isaiah 30:8-14 which says "Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever: That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD: Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits: Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us. Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon: Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant. And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters' vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit." and we see here how the children of Israel preferred to hear smooth words and lies from their preachers, so it is hardly surprising that this is still the case with the majority of people, who are still not interested in what God has to say. Even when someone tries to speak what God wants them to say, the people will still just ignore what is being said and then think that they are righteous just because they are being preached to. We can see how this conversion process worked with the children of Israel in Ezekiel 33:30-33 which says "Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD. And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness. And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not. And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them." and you will find that a similar thing happens with church people nowadays, where they will listen to what you have to say, while blatantly knowing in their hearts that they are not going to change, by actually doing the things that God has asked them to do.

Deafened by a devil

The hardest thing that I find about this current situation, is that the people who seem to have these performance devils inside them, they seem to all be stuck in a situation where it does not seem possible for them to change. I have spoken to people who seem to be possessed in this way and it seems as if they cannot be affected by any of God's words in the Bible. I have sometimes thought of something to say, that I am sure would have an effect, but then found that they could shrug off the words with ease. It seems to me a if the only way that you can start a proper church is to somehow avoid having these performance devil people as the leaders, because they will then force in their random doctrines, which do not allow the members to then do their good works before men, so that God can be glorified, with it then not being possible to correct them, because of the performance devil that seems to be in them, which then also seems to cause them to be able to easily ignore what advice they are being given by other people.
If you find that you are good at striking up random conversations with groups of people, then you should have no problem finding a church that will happily have you perform for them. If on the other hand you find that you do not seem to be good at standing up and talking to a group of people, about almost any random subject, then get in touch because you could be the ideal kind of person for helping to start up a church, which can finally have people who are willing to do what God has asked us to do.
